Update 2007:

Another year, another trip. I'm picking up where I left off and starting in my cherished Tokyo, before progressing on to another head-to-head bout with Beijing. From there, it's behind the Bamboo Curtain into North Korea, and finally an overland jaunt into Vietnam. Dates from August 31st to September 20th.

To family, friends and colleagues: more of the same as last year, please. If your messages hadn't provided the occasional reminders that I did actually have a life to return home to, I might very well have stayed in Japan...

2006:

I am seriously challenged when it comes to writing profiles, so here is a rough itinerary instead: I'm travelling on the Trans-Mongolian Express across Russia, Mongolia and China, and then spending 11 days in Japan. Dates from August 25th - September 21st.

To my family, friends and colleagues - if you're not too bitter about the fact that you remain incarcerated in Britain's questionable climate whilst I am frolicking across the Ural Mountains and beyond, then please leave a message; it would be lovely to hear from you.
